Bridgewater Chambers is run by William McCarthy, Barrister at Law.

William is a member of chambers (lawyers offices) in both Manchester and London but covers the entirety of England and Wales.

Called to the Bar in 1996, William is in full time practise. He originally obtained a First Class Honours degree and completed the Bar Vocational Course in London having been awarded several prizes including for the best performance in Advocacy as well as for the highest achievement in his law degree.

He is a committed 'fighter' on behalf of his clients but will also provide realistic and measured advice in simple, down to earth terms. He is know for going the 'extra mile' for clients, always working towards an 'optimal exit' within mimimum time.

Advice is provided via the public access scheme under which you are able to receive legal services directly from a specialist Barrister rather than a solicitor. Given the choice, many clients would prefer to access the specialist skills of a Barrister (who are able to certify compromise agreements in the same way as a solicitor), particularly given that this is often cheaper.
